I just haul my scope out to the backyard. If you are in the Louisville-Longmont-Boulder area join us sometime at a star party... see www.longmontastro.org for schedule.

From a dark site a number of deep sky objects are visible to the naked eye. M31 for sure, M33, M13, quite a few open clusters --- Pleades M45 of course, Praespe. Just off the top of my head, probably quite a few more...

With just 10x50 binnoculars you can see more than 80 of the Messier objects.

Where in Louisville do you go to get these pictures?
Can you see M31 and some other DSOs without a telescope?
