Saturn on Jan. 16, 2009

Saturn from 5:11 am this morning. Rings are just coming off minimum tilt. The rings will tilt a bit more over the next several months and then reach minimum again this fall. Saturn will be near conjunction with the sun at that time though.
Partly cloudy, though very thin. Transparency good, turbulence 5/10, temperature 38 deg. F. No wind, location Louisville, CO.
Equipment Nexstar11, Philips Toucam 840K at cassegrain focus, 1/50sec, 15fps, 25% gain, stack 1600 of 2700 with Registax4. Enhanced with Photoshop Elem, to bring up rings.
